Speake fire department seeks monthly electric bill fee amid budget deficit

Speake Volunteer Fire & Rescue District Chief Gunnar Walling says the department is facing an approximately $20,000 budget deficit and is asking residents to support a proposed $5 monthly electric bill fee to help maintain emergency services and replace aging equipment.
