Mariah Carey ‘Stunned, Humbled & Grateful’ As Memoir Tops Best Seller List

Scoring No. 1 hits comes quite easily to Mariah Carey. Over the past 30 years, she has scored nineteen Billboard Hot 100 toppers, the most by any solo artist in history.

But the overwhelming success of her memoir, “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” has left her stunned and humbled. The memoir hit No. 1 on the New York Times best seller list for hard cover books.

The book, which narrates Carey’s life, including her career, romantic travails and the racial abuses she went through, hit stores last week.

“Wow. Stunned, humbled & grateful. Writing this memoir nearly consumed my life for the last three years,” Carey wrote on Wednesday after hearing the news about the book hitting No. 1 on the best seller list.

“U MAD, to everyone, who has taken the time to read my story & make this dream a reality. It almost makes it tolerable to have lived through these experiences! LOL,” she continued.
